  • Day 03 – A song that makes you happy

  • Day 04 – A song that makes you sad

  • Day 05 – A song that reminds you of someone

  • Day 06 – A song that reminds you of somewhere

  • Day 12 – A song from a band you hate
  • Day 13 – A song that is a guilty pleasure

Hm. It took me awhile to find a song that I’d consider my guilty pleasure. So after awhile of searching, I came across “The River” by Good Charlotte featured the amazingly delicious M. Shadows and Syn. Gates from A7X. I would say this is a guilty pleasure because I actually kind of hate Good Charlotte lol I never liked them. Ever. Even when they were “popular”. Um. I heard this on the radio, Q101 a few years ago and Liked it. Granted, I hate the rest of their shit but this song is pretty good…and it’s awesome that members of A7X sings with them (even though CLEARLY A7X owns Good Charlotte all day, everyday). Um. So not much to say about that, I don’t even know why I like it to be honest lol But whatever, right? Here’s the video if you’ve never heard it before.

Interesting Shit of the Day

So. This is another installment of cool stuff I’ve come across on my internet travels that might be of interest. 🙂 Enjoy. Feel free to check out the stuff I link. I try to have a variety of things…if Not…feel free to let me know what you’d rather see.

1. www.wanderfly.com This is pretty nifty if you like to travel. I never get to travel but I have plans of traveling within the year or so. This is Wanderfly! It’s a nice little application/site of sort that finds places around the world for you to go based on how much money you’re able to spend, how many days and activities you’re interested it. It’ll give you places you can go, things there to do, and average prices for airline tickets, etc. I tinkered with it just cause and it was pretty cool. Worth looking into.

2. www.passiveaggressivenotes.com This site I discovered after I read the book. Passive Aggressive notes is just a book full of real life examples of people being passive aggressive. Some of the stuff on their is hilarious. This website has most from the book, and more that didn’t make it into the book. A lot of it is things regarding room mates, parking spots, etc. If you like reading notes/signs with a shit ton of wit and hilarity, I’d highly recommend going through the site.

3. www.theoi.com Something a bit random lol I like Greek Mythology and this site explores various aspects of greek mythology. If anyone is into that sort of thing.

4. 133 Quote It: where you can find just about any qoute about pretty much anything. It’s fun 🙂

5. %253Ftype%253 A wall of Rock Music? Brilliance, nothing else needs to be said.

30 Day Music Challenge: Day 12 (Song by a band I hate)

  • Day 01 – Your favorite song
  • Day 02 – Your least favorite song

  • Day 03 – A song that makes you happy

  • Day 04 – A song that makes you sad

  • Day 05 – A song that reminds you of someone

  • Day 06 – A song that reminds you of somewhere

  • Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event

  • Day 08 – A song that you know all the words to

  • Day 09 – A song that you can dance to

  • Day 10 – A song that makes you fall asleep

  • Day 11 – A song from your favorite bandnot
  • Day 12 – A song from a band you hate

Ohohohoho. I hate so many bands…that’s going to be hard to pick. I was listening to the radio today and a song ‘Be my Escape: by Relient K came on. I killed myself. I don’t know why, but Relient K gets on my nerves. I think they’re a wannabee All American Rejects type band but failed in the process. The lead singers voice sounds like a pre-teen and they try to be so “edgy”, but I’ve seen edgier no-named bands…wait, they kind of are already. No offense to those who like them, but they suck…and try too hard. This is just MY opinion, of course. I know some girls who are really into them, but I don’t see the appeal. I mean, other than not being anything unique…they sound like some n00b garage band. Seriously. Give it up. What kind of Concert would they have? There was one last year in Moline, Illinois…but what would go on there? “Hardcore” fan mosh pits? I don’t think so. lol The lyrics to their songs are really amateurish as well. Eek.  I’d never let anything like that even come NEAR my amazingly sculpted music collection. So yeah..I’m not even going to bother to post a video because I won’t waste my time. You can go look it up yourself 😛

Things that habitually gets on my nerves

I saw a few things today that remind me of what usually pisses me off. This isn’t a rant of any kind, not really. Just a somewhat controlled lists of shit I don’t like. lol Feel free to share what gets on YOUR nerves on a regular basis. I like to gripe in a group setting.

1. Ghetto Black People. Now, before you go on saying “You’re racist”. I’m black…barely. I mean I am by RACE/ethnicity. But a) I’m a quarter white anyway. b) I don’t act “black” (stereotypes exist for a reason, even if you shouldn’t use them). I’ve been called an “Oreo” (if you get what that means…). I despite rap, r&B, hip hop or anything related. I love rock and all under that umbrella (progressive, grunge, punk, screamo, industrial, alternative, indie, metal…etc.) I dress more punk/gothesque. I love my obnoxious red hair and piercings and my awesome tattoo. ❤ I get stared at a lot by other black people and I’ve often been asked why I’m not more “normal” or that “I’m trying to be white” or “I think I’m better than the average black person”. Um, whatever. I like what I like.  I NEVER identified with “black culture”. I guess the fact that my boyfriend is white, doesn’t help 😛 Oopsy. But yes, I hate loud ass ignorant black folks. I just can’t stand it. But do what you do…I guess. Pics of me below

2. Gamer stereotypes. Ok. So. I don’t get why people always make it seem like video games is a “guys only” thing. I admit that the majority of gamers are males and a good majority of girls who play…don’t play most of the games out there. They’re usually more casual gamers. However, you have to realize there are always exceptions to the generally true rule. I consider myself a gamer. I have some older systems still, and I own the 360 slim..and soon a ps3. I play a wide variety…classic games, casual games, rpgs, but mainly FPS (first person shooters for non gaming-enthusiasts). I like Halo, CoD (black ops ftw), The Fall Out Series (New Vegas <3) and some older games like Golden Eye etc. I play a few racers, but mainly Burnout Revenge because it kicks series ass and I think it’s better than Need for Speed. NFS is a bit overrated. But that’s just me. My favorite game currently is Borderlands because it’s a unique rpg like FPS, and highly addicting. I’m looking forward to getting my ps3 so I can play uncharted, God of War and Heavy rain..Oh! And twisted metal. But yes, seriously. Stop with the “guys only” bullshit. There are girls out there who can play and WILL kick your ass. Like me. Ask my boyfriend. Oh, I also play a mean pair of drums on Rock Band. Just sayin.

3. People who don’t know how to be their own person. I HATE followers/posers/copiers. I know that everyone copies something/someone in some way at some point. However, there’s a difference between THAT and always doing what everyone else does because everyone else is doing it. It annoys me to no end. It’s like, wow way to be your own person. I’d rather be boring and be ME, than be someone else just to be “cool”. Fuck being cool. I like being myself. I’m nerdy, pretty weird, sarcastic and I like my style of dress. I’m ok with people staring at me and talking shit about me. I’m comfortable in my own skin and anyone who doesn’t approve can surely go fuck themselves. I like the music that I like regardless of WHO likes/dislikes it. I understand getting suggestions from friends for good music…but that’s different then when someone wants to ALL OF A SUDDEN listen to certain band because they want to fit in. Or, wanting to dress a certain way because the people they’re friends with dresses that way. That’s not you, if you never did. Stop being something you’re not because nobody will take you seriously. Ever.

4. People who can’t handle the truth. I know that I’m brutally honest often times and people call me a mean bitch for it. Um. That’s LIFE. If you think the world is a big fucking bowl of rose petals, you need to open up your eyes. Not everyone is going to be nice. I try to spare my friends of my honesty, and I usually do. HOWEVER, sometimes you need to tell people how it is. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to tip toe around you about every damn thing. If you can’t handle it, tough. Also, don’t start shit if you can’t handle the repercussions because I don’t back down from anyone. So don’t start things with me, and then be upset after I’ve put you down. Also, don’t be two faced and then wonder why I’m all of a sudden against you. I’m not stupid, I know what you’re doing.

5. Cry babies. It’s awkward for me…

6. Shitty bands. I’m tired of there being so many crappy bands that copy off the big named ones just to make it. I also hate the mass amount of video game cover bands and Chip tune music because MOST of them suck. The only good ones that I know of currently is Power Glove and another one I can’t recall the name of. The rest of them needs to stop. And no, your fans aren’t awesome. Sorry. 😛
That’s about it.

30 Day Music Challenge Day 11!

  • Day 11 – A song from your favorite band

This is easy…since Coheed and Cambria is my favorite band (clearly). I try to have some taste in music…I could listen to some lame wannabe band. I already used my favorite song on a previous post, so I’ll use my second favorite song by C&C. That would be the super sinister, “Chamberlain”. It’s from their latest album (next part of the saga), Year of the Black Rainbow…which is my second favorite album of theirs…right after No World for Tomorrow 🙂 This song is fucking amazing. It’s as I said before S I N I S T E R. The way it sounds, the lyrics and the sexy bass. I can’t begin to describe how much I love it 🙂 I mean I could, but I could go on for days. Either way, it’s delicious 😛 This song pwns your favorite song. Be aware. And as always, the Video…but I feel like the lyrics are worth looking at.

Worlds are burning out to the endless shame of this mistaken way
We wither on and on in this game we play
Go ring on the bells of war and head straight into the lion’s cage
You went and told your secrets here

So you can take to the grave
cause there is no stopping me, so long
Lungs hang in this dead man’s curtain
Believe in me cause I won’t believe in this

The end is now starting
oh, so please just take your seat
and live your last moments waving goodbye, desperately
Having a nice day while we’re
swinging from gallows perched atop
Fool sit still, watch them, please take your number

Spill on through killing fields, the blood of desperate men can change
The thirst of a boy who breathes again

So you can take to the grave
but there is no stopping me
Lungs hang in this dead man’s curtain
Believe in me cause I have been holding you back

The end is now starting
oh, so please just take your seat
and live your last moments waving goodbye, desperately
Having a nice day while we’re
swinging from gallows perched atop
Fool sit still, watch them, please take your number

There is no room for words against them now
Cause you’re my guiding light, they couldn’t make a sound
Is there a way to say, to incriminate, oh, listen to me
Oh, well baby, open that door

So you can take to the grave
cause there is no stopping me, so long
Lungs hang in this dead man’s curtain
Believe in me as I won’t believe in this

The end is now starting
oh, so please just take your seat
and live your last moments waving goodbye, desperately
Having a nice day while we’re
swinging from gallows perched atop
Fool sit still, watch them, please take your number

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Halle–

Music Day Challenge Day 10

  • Day 01 – Your favorite song
  • Day 02 – Your least favorite song
  • Day 03 – A song that makes you happy
  • Day 04 – A song that makes you sad
  • Day 05 – A song that reminds you of someone
  • Day 06 – A song that reminds you of somewhere
  • Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event
  • Day 08 – A song that you know all the words to
  • Day 09 – A song that you can dance to
  • Day 10 – A song that makes you fall asleep

There’s a handful of songs that can make me fall asleep…because it’s so soothing. I suppose I’ll go with ‘Keeping the Blade’ from Coheed and Cambria. It’s a beautifully soft instrumental…I love string instruments. It’s a short and lyric-less song but it’s very sad and makes me feel peaceful (somehow)…and I can go right to sleep afterwards…maybe.

Interesting Shit of the Day

I spent a lot of time on the internet…lurking. Um. And I tend to find things that that pretty cool (or at least I think they are), or funny. etc. So I decided that a few times a week, I’ll publish a post with some links to some stuff. A lot of this is from stumbleupon, just sayin. Enjoy

1. article_18939_8-stupid-amazon-products-with-impressively-sarcastic-reviews.html

The url says everything. I got a good laugh out of this one. I love when people make hilarious comments on stupid amazon products. I have to wonder though…what on earth would possess people to buy some of these things. Regardless, if it makes for some good humor…I tip my hat to you online shopping enthusiasts.

2. gorgeous-steampunk-jewelry-by-london-particulars

I nearly peed when I saw this. I have a sheer fascination for steam punk fashion. Jewelry especially. It’s both elegant but edgy…gorgeous pieces. I could care less how “expensive” it is, it’s worth it. There are so many people on etsy who create such intricate masterpieces. I hope to get a necklace or two soon.

3. music-philosophy-combining-music-and-graphics.html

Some good music qoutes from good musicians. Worth reading me thinks 😀

4. stereomood.com

A really awesome site. It gives you a long list of emotions/feelings that one can feel. You click on that and it generates what it considers the best playlist to display such emotions. If you sign up (free of course), you can save playlists/songs and make your own playlists. I really like it. It’s a good way to find other songs. I have found some stellar instruments, which I didn’t expect. I’d say give it a go. It’s worth looking into. For the music lovers out there.

5. article_15853_6-cutest-animals-that-can-still-destroy-you.html

I love this article. I love animals, first of all. This article is basically about cute ass animals that can still fuck you up. The person who wrote this knows his stuff…but the commentary is hilarious. The bit about the platypus is pretty damn awesome. A bit from the article:  The platypus is mother nature’s way of saying, “I made this thing out of spare parts I found on the workshop floor, and it can still fucking cripple you.” (Best quote ever)

30 Day Music Challenge: Day 9

  • Day 01 – Your favorite song
  • Day 02 – Your least favorite song

  • Day 03 – A song that makes you happy

  • Day 04 – A song that makes you sad

  • Day 05 – A song that reminds you of someone

  • Day 06 – A song that reminds you of somewhere

  • Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event

  • Day 08 – A song that you know all the words to
  • Day 09 – A song that you can dance to

So. I don’t dance much. The only time I dance is if I”m at the forum (a club type bar in my college town) and I’m intoxicated 🙂 Well, actually I’ve gone and had fun there without having have drank anything. So I take that last part back. But I DO dance like a hooker when I’m intoxicated 😛 This song will probably count towards both a guilty pleasure song as well as a song I can/will dance to. I don’t know why I like it, but I do. I guess it’s always nice to be able to have a tiny bit of diversity in your life lol So the song I choose for today is “Take it Off” by Ke$ha. I’m not her biggest fan normally. I don’t hate her, but she’s nothing I’d really ever be a fan of. I do like this one song because it is catchy and IS fun to dance to. I had this song played for me at the forum on my 22nd birthday a few weeks back and it was awesome. But yeah, not much to say other than that. Comment if you wish, perhaps your suggestions of good songs will give me more songs to look for 🙂

The Vid: nothing new.

Life Update :) Aka Shit sucks

So. I have TRIED (and failed) to make it through this semester with my physical problems because i DESPISE missing school. I get behind, and it makes me stress more than I already do (which is already an unhealthy amount).  Unfortunately, after a few bad falls (AND being stranded on the floor helpless for an hour and a half..) my mom refused to let me stay a day longer…and I think I was at my breaking point anyway. Um. So I’ve been hospitalized back home in Chicago since Sunday…which sucks. I don’t particularly like hospital even THOUGH the food is good and the people are awesome. I need to be back at school. I’m missing classes, a test, labs, everything. It’s making me crazy thinking of how far behind I am going to be.  It’s not even fair, for fucks sake. I AM glad that I’m getting help. Turns out I’m worse off than I thought. I don’t have fibromyalgia. More than likely I have muscular myopathy which is inflammation of the muscles which would make sense. Hopefully they can biopsy my muscles friday, so they can start treatement so I can hurry and get the fuck out of here. I miss my besties (people in Linc/Wash and a few in Grote…very few. Some I’m fine without seeing). It’s lonely here without anyone to see everyday. I miss my lunch and dinners with these people 😦 I hate being here alone everyday hoping to get better. Why couldn’t I have gotten sick with something do-able? lol Anything but having muscular issues. Geez. So, on top of being here without company, I’m incredibly worried about my academics. I’ve fucking worked my ass off to get the fucking awesome grades I get AND to be able to graduate in december. I do NOT want to have to withdraw for the semester. Absolutely not. They’d have to drag me away kicking (barely, I can’t kick much) and screaming (this I can do). It would ruin E V E R Y T H I N G, I worked for. I’d feel like a failure…and what the fuck ELSE am i going to do if I’m not in school? Stay at home and do what? I do NOT think so :/ So, this shit needs to clear up as soon as possible. I can handle being behind, I can catch up…but being away for the rest of the semester? I’ll become a shut-in and lay around in a comatose haze. Basically. So, I’m playing things by ear and my teachers are fully away of the issues at hand.I can only hope for the best, but I lay around worrying about these things.
Oh, also. I’m really tired of certain people constantly telling me how awesome their lives are going…while I struggle to get better in the hospital. Its either on facebook or a text. Seriously. How AWESOME for you.  I don’t care. I really don’t. I hope you get hit by a bus. Because you suck, and nobody likes you.Fuck face. /end

So this is basically a brief update as to what has been going on and why I’m NOW just writing something (my laptop hasn’t been with me till now). Let’s see how things go. Yep yep.

30 Day Music Challenge Days: 6-8 (I’m behind)

Ugh. I’m a few days behind on my challenge…which I’ll explain in another blog.  Anywho, on to the next three.

A song that reminds me of somewhere…Hm. As cliche as it sounds, I’d have to say I’d go with “Hotel California” by The Eagles. To be honest, I’ve only been there twice but it was a pretty chill place. A lot nicer than other places I’ve been to…and some close friends of mine live there. 🙂

A song that reminds me of a certain event: I’d go with “21 @ 12” (21 at midnight) by Hot Hot Heat. Technically, my 22nd birthday was the best birthday I ever had…BUT my 21st would be the 2nd best. I had such a blast and got really drunk. So. It was glorious and a shit ton of fun just letting loose and hanging with friends.

A Song that you know all the words to…that can be pretty much any song in my 100 song playlist 😛 I’ll just pick one that I like a lot more than some others (Without it being Coheed…). So I’ll say “City of Delusion” by Muse. It’s probably my third favorite song of all time. Ok, it is my third favorite song…right after Coheed and Cambria. 😛 I like the trumpet solo in it too, for the record.

Links to the vids: as always.

Enjoy~
