12 Goals for 2012

Well, It’s a week away from Christmas…and nearly the end of the year…so I was doing a lot of thinking today. I have a lot to say about this past year overall but that’s for another entry altogether. However, I do have aspirations and whatnot for the upcoming year. So, I guess I’m just listing some of them…and also just for me to put it out in the open so I will feel liable to do them.

1. Go Back to WIU…In good spirits. I will be returning to campus but I have many fears and worries about how it will go. I don’t want to go back and be a hermit and hide away. I want to be as social as I was before I got sick. Granted, I HIGHLY don’t I’ll be setting foot into any bars because I would feel odd being in a bar in a wheelchair…but otherwise, I will try to be social in all other aspects.

2. Stress A LOT less. With my physical healthΒ  being down the toilet in comparison to when I was healthy…stress will only make me feel worth on a daily basis. So, I’m going to try to keep stress out of my life as much as possible. Especially if it’s over stupid stuff, like worrying about people judging me cause of the wheelchair and all that. Not worth it.

3. Start an Etsy Shop. So I’ve been knitting hats for awhile…well I’ve been knitting other variety of things but Hats seem to be what I do best (and fastest). Someone suggested that I sell my things on etsy…So I’m going to give it a go. It will take some planning because it’s not something you can just do on a whim. I’m working on a title for the shop and a tagline…then I gotta MAKE a good amount of hats to open the shop with…pricing, packaging and shipping, business cards to promote for when people get hats from me as gifts…to pass it to other people etc. So yeah…but it is something I wanna do.

4.Β  Get back into writing poetry regularly. I’ve been writing off and on…or I’ll have things written but I never get around to posting on dA. So. I want to go back to being more diligent in posting and being active in my poetry groups.

5. Buy more band t’s ❀ *not that it will be hard…* But try to buy more varieties…not just Coheed and Cambria.

6. Go to Lollapalooze.

7. Go On Vacation at least once. Which I will probably accomplish since I will probably be going to Atlanta and Detroit in July…and maybe N. Carolina.

8. Do something Charitable. I know some people who knit or crochet things and give what they make to shelters or an organization. I wanna do something good for people.

9. Participate in a blood drive. I don’t think I can give blood cause I’m anemic…BUT I can at least help with a drive.

10. Do one big knitting project for myself. I always do projects for other people…I wanna knit for myself. I also do things like hats and scarves…I want to do something that’s extensive and time consuming. I’m thinking a large blanket of some sort…

11. Buy a Fish…I don’t know why but I just want one.

12. Have More Sex. Yep I said it. And before you judge, it’ll help me be stress. I doubt my boyfriend will mind πŸ˜›

30 Day Music Challenge: Day 15 (Song that Describes Me…)

  • Day 1-14
  • Day 15 – A song that describes you

Now, upon first instinct I was going to put “Mother Superior” by Coheed and Cambria…because I’m a fucking alpha female rawr…lol Um. But then I realized I already put that one and I promised to be as original as possible and not put any duplicates. SO! I have to pick another song. Sorry Claudio ❀ I think I’ll go with “New Born” By Muse from their Origin of Symmetry album. This song is basically about struggle, at it’s best…when you’ve “seen too much”. I’ve been through a lot in my life. I’ve lost a lot of family members, dealt with cancer, dealt with self esteem issues, depression…I’ve gone through more than a person probably should by age 22. Yet, I’ve come out of it a stronger person who can deal with what life throws in the way. I also think this song isΒ  just bad ass anyway because Muse is fucking awesome. I like listening to this song to remind me that even though I’ve endured a lot of hurdles, I’m not fucking dead. πŸ˜› It’s somewhat inspirational, I think. But it’s hard to relate to if you’ve never really had it hard. But I think it’s a song everyone can like at least on a musical level πŸ˜€ There, enough soul sharing for one day. Here’s the vid, it’s pretty damn cool…but a bit odd. Enjoy!

Interesting Shit of the Day

So. This is another installment of cool stuff I’ve come across on my internet travels that might be of interest. πŸ™‚ Enjoy. Feel free to check out the stuff I link. I try to have a variety of things…if Not…feel free to let me know what you’d rather see.

1. www.wanderfly.com This is pretty nifty if you like to travel. I never get to travel but I have plans of traveling within the year or so. This is Wanderfly! It’s a nice little application/site of sort that finds places around the world for you to go based on how much money you’re able to spend, how many days and activities you’re interested it. It’ll give you places you can go, things there to do, and average prices for airline tickets, etc. I tinkered with it just cause and it was pretty cool. Worth looking into.

2. www.passiveaggressivenotes.com This site I discovered after I read the book. Passive Aggressive notes is just a book full of real life examples of people being passive aggressive. Some of the stuff on their is hilarious. This website has most from the book, and more that didn’t make it into the book. A lot of it is things regarding room mates, parking spots, etc. If you like reading notes/signs with a shit ton of wit and hilarity, I’d highly recommend going through the site.

3. www.theoi.com Something a bit random lol I like Greek Mythology and this site explores various aspects of greek mythology. If anyone is into that sort of thing.

4. 133 Quote It: where you can find just about any qoute about pretty much anything. It’s fun πŸ™‚

5. %253Ftype%253 A wall of Rock Music? Brilliance, nothing else needs to be said.

30 Day Music Challenge Day 11!

  • Day 01 – Your favorite song
  • Day 02 – Your least favorite song

  • Day 03 – A song that makes you happy

  • Day 04 – A song that makes you sad

  • Day 05 – A song that reminds you of someone

  • Day 06 – A song that reminds you of somewhere

  • Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event

  • Day 08 – A song that you know all the words to

  • Day 09 – A song that you can dance to

  • Day 10 – A song that makes you fall asleep
  • Day 11 – A song from your favorite band

This is easy…since Coheed and Cambria is my favorite band (clearly). I try to have some taste in music…I could listen to some lame wannabe band. I already used my favorite song on a previous post, so I’ll use my second favorite song by C&C. That would be the super sinister, “Chamberlain”. It’s from their latest album (next part of the saga), Year of the Black Rainbow…which is my second favorite album of theirs…right after No World for Tomorrow πŸ™‚ This song is fucking amazing. It’s as I said before S I N I S T E R. The way it sounds, the lyrics and the sexy bass. I can’t begin to describe how much I love it πŸ™‚ I mean I could, but I could go on for days. Either way, it’s delicious πŸ˜› This song pwns your favorite song. Be aware. And as always, the Video…but I feel like the lyrics are worth looking at.

Worlds are burning out to the endless shame of this mistaken way
We wither on and on in this game we play
Go ring on the bells of war and head straight into the lion’s cage
You went and told your secrets here

So you can take to the grave
cause there is no stopping me, so long
Lungs hang in this dead man’s curtain
Believe in me cause I won’t believe in this

The end is now starting
oh, so please just take your seat
and live your last moments waving goodbye, desperately
Having a nice day while we’re
swinging from gallows perched atop
Fool sit still, watch them, please take your number

Spill on through killing fields, the blood of desperate men can change
The thirst of a boy who breathes again

So you can take to the grave
but there is no stopping me
Lungs hang in this dead man’s curtain
Believe in me cause I have been holding you back

The end is now starting
oh, so please just take your seat
and live your last moments waving goodbye, desperately
Having a nice day while we’re
swinging from gallows perched atop
Fool sit still, watch them, please take your number

There is no room for words against them now
Cause you’re my guiding light, they couldn’t make a sound
Is there a way to say, to incriminate, oh, listen to me
Oh, well baby, open that door

So you can take to the grave
cause there is no stopping me, so long
Lungs hang in this dead man’s curtain
Believe in me as I won’t believe in this

The end is now starting
oh, so please just take your seat
and live your last moments waving goodbye, desperately
Having a nice day while we’re
swinging from gallows perched atop
Fool sit still, watch them, please take your number

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Halle–

Interesting Shit of the Day

I spent a lot of time on the internet…lurking. Um. And I tend to find things that that pretty cool (or at least I think they are), or funny. etc. So I decided that a few times a week, I’ll publish a post with some links to some stuff. A lot of this is from stumbleupon, just sayin. Enjoy

1. article_18939_8-stupid-amazon-products-with-impressively-sarcastic-reviews.html

The url says everything. I got a good laugh out of this one. I love when people make hilarious comments on stupid amazon products. I have to wonder though…what on earth would possess people to buy some of these things. Regardless, if it makes for some good humor…I tip my hat to you online shopping enthusiasts.

2. gorgeous-steampunk-jewelry-by-london-particulars

I nearly peed when I saw this. I have a sheer fascination for steam punk fashion. Jewelry especially. It’s both elegant but edgy…gorgeous pieces. I could care less how “expensive” it is, it’s worth it. There are so many people on etsy who create such intricate masterpieces. I hope to get a necklace or two soon.

3. music-philosophy-combining-music-and-graphics.html

Some good music qoutes from good musicians. Worth reading me thinks πŸ˜€

4. stereomood.com

A really awesome site. It gives you a long list of emotions/feelings that one can feel. You click on that and it generates what it considers the best playlist to display such emotions. If you sign up (free of course), you can save playlists/songs and make your own playlists. I really like it. It’s a good way to find other songs. I have found some stellar instruments, which I didn’t expect. I’d say give it a go. It’s worth looking into. For the music lovers out there.

5. article_15853_6-cutest-animals-that-can-still-destroy-you.html

I love this article. I love animals, first of all. This article is basically about cute ass animals that can still fuck you up. The person who wrote this knows his stuff…but the commentary is hilarious. The bit about the platypus is pretty damn awesome. A bit from the article:Β  The platypus is mother nature’s way of saying, “I made this thing out of spare parts I found on the workshop floor, and it can still fucking cripple you.” (Best quote ever)
